Integral vision
The vision, mission, and research based on these by the Het Kan Wel! foundation have led to our Integral Transition Program (ITP). The ITP focuses on the future-proofing and regeneration of the natural environment, society, and the economy. Research, innovation, communication, and awareness are four key pillars of the ITP.
The word “integral” speaks for itself: we are talking about a broad vision that connects as many aspects of the natural, social, and economic ecosystems as possible. Only when we base the transition on the right principles in all areas and truly make the natural, social, and economic ecosystems future-proof, do we, as humanity, have a future.
The pillar on which our vision is based is the future-proofing of the entire Earth, life on Earth, and the well-being of everyone.
The integral vision is based on the belief that we, as humanity, are completely dependent on the natural ecosystem and on each other. Research into the causes and consequences of future-defining issues has led to the broadening and deepening of the original vision.
In short, the vision of the Het Kan Wel! foundation boils down to the idea that we can only create a future-proof world if we want it together and actually make it happen. This means that we must make difficult choices in our daily lives. How do we deal with energy, food, how much do we need, and what can we contribute to a future-proof world?
A future-proof world is one in which humanity lives in harmony with nature and with each other. Both are equally important. We can see from nature that the damage caused has serious consequences for our health, for society, and for the economy. Furthermore, the erosion of security, inequality under the law, and the dysfunctioning of the legislature cause much unrest in society. The polarization that results from this causes society to spiral downward.
Therefore, it is important that we all understand that in the next five years, we can live differently to prevent further chaos and destruction… and also have a future as humanity beyond 2050.
We have the opportunity to change the world, and Het Kan Wel! believes that humanity can do it.
